Rowton Hall Hotel Wedding Photographer
Rowton Hall is one of my favourite country-house venues right on the edge of Chester — Georgian charm, walled gardens and warm, characterful rooms that photograph beautifully.
I've photographed a good number of weddings at Rowton Hall over the years, and I know its rhythms well. The oak-panelled rooms give a lovely warmth for the ceremony, while the walled garden and the lawns at the rear are perfect when the sun comes out.
For couple portraits I love the garden's mature trees and the quiet corners around the terrace — five relaxed minutes away from your guests is all we need for something really special. In softer light, the front of the hall and the surrounding Cheshire countryside make a timeless backdrop.
As a natural, unobtrusive photographer, I let the day unfold at Rowton and quietly capture it. You won't spend your day being marched around for photos — just a little gentle direction at golden hour, and the rest is real moments, honestly told.
Being just minutes from home in Farndon, I'm always early, always calm, and I know exactly where the day's best light tends to fall at Rowton Hall through every season.

Rowton Hall Hotel — your questions
Can we have sparklers at Rowton Hall?+
Yes — sparkler send-offs work beautifully on the terrace and lawns. I'll help arrange everyone so it's safe, relaxed and produces gorgeous, glowing images.
Where is best for portraits at Rowton Hall?+
The walled garden and the mature trees to the rear are my go-to, plus the front elevation of the hall in golden-hour light. We only need five to ten quiet minutes.
What happens if it rains?+
No problem at all. Rowton's characterful panelled rooms and large windows give lovely natural light indoors, and a few umbrellas can make for wonderfully atmospheric portraits.
